A1R Remote — Privacy Policy

A1R Remote is a free Android companion app, published by A1R Studio Code ("A1R", "we", "us", "our"), that discovers your A1R desktop software on your local Wi‑Fi network and opens its control interface. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data. It supplements the main A1R Terms & Privacy Policy, which governs the A1R desktop software and a1r.app.

1.Summary

A1R Remote does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us or to any third party. It does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting services. It has no account, login, or sign-up of its own.

2.What the app does

A1R Remote is a thin native shell around the same control interface already served by the A1R desktop app on your computer. On launch, it:

Looks for an A1R desktop instance advertising itself on your local Wi‑Fi network (via mDNS/Bonjour, service _a1r._tcp), or accepts a manual IP address you type in;
Opens that instance's web control UI inside the app — the same interface you'd otherwise reach by typing the computer's IP address into a browser on the same network;
Remembers the last computer you connected to, on your device only, so it can reconnect automatically.

All communication happens directly between your phone/tablet and your own computer over your local network. Nothing is relayed through, or visible to, A1R's servers.

3.Permissions used

Permission	Why
Internet / Network state	To load the control UI from your computer and check Wi‑Fi connectivity.
Wi‑Fi state / multicast	Required by Android for mDNS discovery of the A1R desktop on your LAN.

If a Play Store listing of the app shows an additional permission (such as camera) that is no longer used by the current version, it is leftover from an earlier build and will be removed in an upcoming update — it is never accessed by the app's code path.

4.Data collected by us

None. A1R Remote itself does not send any data — usage, device, network, or otherwise — to A1R's servers or to any analytics/advertising provider. The app does not require an email address, account, or license key; licensing is handled by the A1R desktop software it connects to, as described in the main Terms & Privacy Policy.

5.Data handled by the Google Play platform

Google Play itself may collect standard install/crash diagnostics under its own privacy policy, independent of A1R. See Google's Privacy Policy.

6.Children's privacy

A1R Remote is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.

7.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the app's functionality changes (for example, if a future version adds an optional feature that transmits data). Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
